Fuel level measurement is an outstanding extra service of our fleet tracking system. Therefore, fuel “extraction”, “undue filling” can be filtered and you can easily determine which driver deals with the vehicle sparingly, which is not a bad aspect of today's high fuel prices. By using the fuel measurement service, you can have an accurate idea how much fuel is in the vehicle currently and where, when and how much fuel was filled.

The fuel level measurement can take place in a variety of ways:

Connection to the vehicle's original fuel measuring device:

It is the cheapest solution, as it does not require the installation of a separate fuel level measuring device. Based on the vehicle factory-mounted fuel transmitter, we transmit the signal to the GPS device via a voltage regulator module (in order to filter out the fluctuations in the electrical system of the vehicle). The accuracy of measurement is also influenced by the technical condition of the original level measuring device (float) . Thus, you can get information on potential abuse easily. Calibration of the fuel tank is required after integration.

Connection to the computer CAN network of the vehicle:

By the aid of an additional module, the GPS tracking device is able to transmit the data received from the computer network of the vehicle (CAN). In addition to the accurate fuel level, a lot of useful information can be compiled owing to the integration of a CAN module. Non-comprehensive list of various pieces of information: register status, revolution, cooling water temperature, accelerator pedal position, condition of headlights, condition of safety belts, fuel level measurement. The device can be mounted fast, there is no need to calibrate the fuel tank.

Integrating a capacitive probe:

The main point of the solution is that an additional fuel probe is built into the fuel tank of the vehicle,. Integration is the longest and most costly in this case (tank dismantling, drilling, mounting back, calibration). Its advantage is that you can use it for almost any vehicle any vehicle and the probe stabilizes its own supply voltage. By the aid of a fuel probe connected to constant supply voltage you can achieve highly accurate measurement, but this part of the vehicle will lose its warranty because of later integration. This solution is used mainly with trucks whose total mass exceeds 3.5 tons.
